The Strength of Interlocking Concrete Pavers
Interlocking concrete pavers are three times stronger than poured concrete, and when properly installed, the paved surface has a life expectancy of 40 to 50 years.
To illustrate what we’re talking about – think for a minute about the foundation of your home. The concrete is delivered in a big mixer truck and it flows out of the chute into the form. In order to make it flow they add water to the mix. Pavers are manufactured in a plant. There is very little water in the mix that is pressed and compacted into the paver molds. Your foundation usually as a PSI strength of 3,000 to 4,000. Pavers usually test out at 9,000 to 12,000 PSI.
